Tony Joseph, Board Member

As an entrepreneur in the Pittsburgh region, Tony co-founded Motionplan, Inc. in 2001 and grew the technology and custom training organization steadily for nine years in his role of Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. In July 2010, Motionplan agreed to an acquisition by of TiER1 Performance Solutions, located in Covington, KY. Tony has worked with clients domestically and internationally in sectors such as energy, financial, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, retail, and technology.

As Managing Director, Tony brings a breadth of global business and technology experience to TiER1. He is published in the Journal of Database Marketing and has an extensive working knowledge of companies across the country. Tony’s primary responsibility is to expand TiER1's presence, brand, and client base across the region. In this role, Tony works with progressive thinking business leaders in four key areas: learning and development, talent management, change management, and knowledge management.

Tony is an active member in the Pittsburgh community and has been recognized for his contributions. He was named one of Pittsburgh's 40 Under 40 in 2008 and received the Community Champions Award from the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2010. Tony is a member of the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble and an Advisory Board member for The Pittsburgh International Children's Theater.

He is a regular guest lecturer at Duquesne University and Point Park University for various undergraduate and graduate courses. Tony holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, an MBA, and an MS-ISM from Duquesne University. He is also a recent graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh XXVI.
