An Evening With Steven Stucky & PNMEWhen: Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 7:30PM ![]() Join members of the PNME team for this special evening featuring music, refreshments, and an opportunity to spend time with Steven Stucky, widely recognized as one of the leading composers today and currently the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Composer of the Year. Steven Stucky was awarded the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Music for his Second Concerto for Orchestra. He has written works for many of the major American orchestras and ensembles, and is writing a new work for the PSO celebrating the 50th anniversary of the publication of environmentalist Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring. Mr. Stucky has taught at Cornell University since 1980. He has also been associated with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for more than 20 years, and is currently Chairman of the American Music Center.
